Corbin Introduces the World Famous Gunfighter Saddle for 2006-2012 HD FXD Dyna-Glide, Switchback and 2006-2008 Dyna Wide Glide Models

Hollister, CA- Corbin announced today the introduction of the World Famous Gunfighter saddle that was designed by Mike Corbin back in 1982 for 2006-2012 Harley-Davidson FXD Dyna-Glide, Switchback and 2006-2008 Dyna Wide Glide models. This timeless design has been the most recognizable and revolutionary seat design to ever hit the motorcycle industry and also has become the most copied seat ever produced. To this day, this seat is still one of Corbin’s most popular seat models for Harleys and Metrics alike.
This particular Gunfighter saddle is done up in Corbin’s Close configuration. Simply stated, this design moves the seating platform closer to the bars to provide an easier reach. It also has a slightly lower seat height, but more importantly has a narrow nose to allow your legs to reach the pavement easier. This is a great setup for smaller riders on the Dyna-Glide. Simple to install or remove, the Corbin saddle mounts to stock locations with a single bolt. A wide variety of custom materials are available by special order at no extra charge when you order a Gunfighter or any other Corbin saddle.
Corbin, the world’s finest motorcycle saddle…Hand crafted in the USA and setting the standard for over four decades! From the original Corbin removable backrest to their unique saddle designs, stylish saddle bags and touring quality fairings; they are unequalled in quality, design and function.

Irvine, Calif., Jan. 18, 2012– Two dealerships won VIP trips to the DealerExpo in Indianapolis and three customers collected a total of $13,500 in the Revive Your Ride! Fall Giveaway.
Rusty Reynolds of Triangle Cycles in Chapel Hill, N.C., is going to the DealerExpo next month because one of his customers became the grand prize winner after simply obtaining an online entry code from his dealership.

“We’re very much looking forward to Indy, and actually taking several people from two store locations,” Reynolds said. “We will most definitely participate in Revive Your Ride! when it comes back in the spring.”

Reynolds has long known Jason Grigg, his customer who won the $10,000 grand prize. Grigg and his wife now have a Yamaha Majesty scooter on hold with the dealership. They also plan on purchasing some accessories with their winnings.

“At first, I thought the phone call about winning was a prank,” said Grigg, who has never won a contest like this. “I called the Motorcycle Industry Council to verify it and got very excited.”

After being picked at random from a pool of all Revive Your Ride! participating dealers, Bud Horner of Horner Honda in Salisbury, MD, won the second VIP DealerExpo trip. “Better to be lucky than good,” he said.

Horner said he feels that Revive Your Ride! brought new customers into his dealership. In preparation for the upcoming spring promotion, he has the entire dealership staff trained to help customers enter the Revive Your Ride! contest.

Kevin Peto of Addison, Ill., was the $2,500 first place winner, after entering the Revive Your Ride! giveaway at The Zone Honda-Kawasaki in Chicago. This was the second time The Zone participated in Revive YourRide!

“We did tons of advertising and marketing through e-mail blasts,Facebook and newsletters,” said Diane Lach of The Zone. “We will most definitely participate again in the spring.”

Michele Copeland, a customer from Tacoma, Wash., won the $1,000 second prize.

“We’ve been excited to offer this promotion to powersports retailers, for no investment at all, to help them boost floor traffic,” said Cam Arnold, vice president aftermarket at the Motorcycle Industry Council.” And we’re bringing two dealerships to Indy, where they’ll each enjoy a $500 travel voucher, three-night hotel stay, food, parties and more.”

Revive Your Ride! was created and is funded by the aftermarket members of the Motorcycle Industry Council specifically to build excitement for two-wheeling and to bring the riding community back to the many retailers of motorcycles, ATVs, side-by-sides, service and aftermarket parts and accessories.

The Motorcycle Industry Council exists to preserve, protect and promote motorcycling through government relations, communications and media relations, statistics and research, aftermarket programs, development of data communications standards, and activities surrounding technical and regulatory issues. As a not-for-profit, national industry association, the MIC seeks to support motorcyclists by representing manufacturers and distributors of motorcycles, scooters, motorcycle/ATV/ROV parts and accessories, and members of allied trades such as insurance, finance and investment companies, media companies and consultants.

The MIC is headquartered in Irvine, Calif., with a government relations office in metropolitan Washington, D.C. First called the MIC in 1970, the organization has been in operation since 1914. Visit the MIC at www.mic.org. Visit the Revive your Ride! website at www.mic.org/reviveyourride.

Well, Friday the 13th has struck again!

The surprise news comes from CCE Headquarter Bad Kreuznach and was made to support CCI in California where re-structuring is taking place with the task of adapting CCI’s US operations to the necessities of the current American market situation.

In 2011, Custom Chrome Europe has enjoyed another record sales year and great success in both the European Custombike market as well as the great support for the Dealer Show at Mainz, which in the last decade has become one of the most important Custombike events in the European Bike Show calendar, thanks to the attending builders, CCE suppliers, CCE customers and Custombikepress. The glamourous event has given the European Custombike scene a high class showcase for
their ingenuity and creativity and has been published worldwide.

Preparations for the 2012 event were well underway and in the final stages, when announcements from CCI Headquarters forced a sudden
change of plans. “It was a really tough decision to make a break in such a successful series”, states Andreas Scholz, Managing Director Custom Chrome Europe GmbH, and adds “but we can not celebrate a party when our parent company is forced to lay off employees. It is our duty to help them in a challenging time and fortunately Custom Chrome Europe’s business is solid to enable us to help.“

Custom Chrome Europe’s business is not affected by the decision, as the European 2012/2013 Catalogue, again in 5 languages, is ready to be printed and European business is running strong. CCE will also continue ongoing activities that support the scene, such as the “Rookie of the Year“ contest on facebook.

“We will meet our customers at their national events which we will attend with our new show booth concept and we will continue the Custom Chrome International Bike Show Series at the other already announced events.”, says Scholz

North Randall, Ohio – PowerSport Institute, a Branch Campus of Ohio Technical College is pleased to announce that our partner / sponsor American Honda has given the school a tremendous donation of various Honda engines and components.

“Honda a long time supporter of excellence in education supports PSI with 6 CRF motocross engines, VTX 1800 Chassis, engine and components, TRX ATV engine, and 2 NSS Scooter engines.

These training aids fit our curriculum perfectly and are greatly appreciated by me personally and everyone at PSI from staff to students.” said Bernie Thompson, PSI Campus Director.

Thompson adds, “We have plans to build the VTX chassis and engine into a running electrical troubling workstation. We are excited for our students and appreciate the support from American Honda.

It is support such as this that is helping PSI educate the youth and industry professionals of today to insure a brighter future for the greatest business in the world, the PowerSport Industry. “

About PSI
At PowerSport Institute, we are focused on developing technicians who are able to make an immediate impact in the workplace. As drivability and maintenance specialists, our graduate technicians know their way around multiple manufacturers’ equipment, tools, resources and shops.
Listening to industry partners and breaking away from the traditional technology segment type of training that other technical schools offer, we have learned that the best way to prepare a technician to be successful in a service environment is to create one.
The objective of the program is to provide learning experiences that enable the successful student to learn motorcycle technology service, maintenance, repair and diagnostic skills.
The training at PSI is split into two major components: the core and the manufacturer-specific training. The emphasis is on hands-on training on actual equipment along with a solid classroom and theory curriculum. The course information will enable the successful student to learn core information that is required to have a good understanding of a motorcycle’s internal combustion engine process, primary drive operation, transmission power flow, fuel system operation, and electrical and suspension system service procedure, all skills that are required by the motorcycle industry.
The course provides fundamental core skill information required by the motorcycle industry, which builds a foundation of knowledge so that a successful student can continue to gain knowledge on additional advanced-level information.
At PSI, students experience what it takes to function in a service environment. Our service environment method of training provides students with the experience of working in a dealership service department. We show our students how to utilize their technical skills to become productive and efficient drivability maintenance specialists.
We have designed the program to provide students with the foundational technical training that will enhance their troubleshooting skills to diagnose fuel and electrical related issues and to be able to efficiently perform service interval maintenances required on all power sport vehicles.

PICKERINGTON, Ohio — The AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame is pleased to announce that 1993 World Roadracing Champion Kevin Schwantz will be the featured guest at its annual Breakfast at Daytona fundraiser, set for the Friday of Bike Week, March 16, at the Daytona 500 Club in the infield of Daytona International Speedway.

Tickets are available for $75, with all proceeds supporting the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame. For more information or to register, please call (614) 856-2222, ext. 1234, or click here: http://events.constantcontact.com/register/event?llr=vw9ldxbab&oeidk=a07e5hlf82pad25d678.

Native Texan Schwantz, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1999, rocketed to prominence as one of America’s best roadracers during the mid-1980s. By the end of the decade, Schwantz had moved to international competition in the 500cc Grand Prix World Championships. He was a perennial top rider in that series and won the world championship in 1993. During his Grand Prix racing career, Schwantz racked up 25 500cc GP victories, putting him second all-time among American riders.

“Kevin Schwantz stands among America’s greatest motorcycle racers, and holds a special place in the hearts and memories of a generation of racing fans,” said Jeff Heininger, chairman of the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation, which raises funds for the Hall of Fame. “We’re honored that one of the Hall of Fame’s most decorated members is joining us at our annual Breakfast at Daytona fundraiser and will provide a first-hand perspective on his world-championship career, and the people and companies that he worked with along the way.”

Schwantz, who today runs the Schwantz School for performance motorcycle rider training at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Road Atlanta, said he’s excited to share stories of his successful career — and take audience questions — at the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Breakfast at Daytona.

“While today my focus is on creating better, safer riders through the Schwantz School, my passion has always been competition at the highest level,” Schwantz said. “The Motorcycle Hall of Fame is a great institution, and it will be great to revisit stories from the past with true enthusiasts at the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Breakfast at Daytona on the infield of one of the world’s most famous racetracks.”

The Breakfast at Daytona also includes a silent auction of unique items related to the Hall of Fame, and an autograph session with Schwantz and other Motorcycle Hall of Famers.

About the American Motorcycle Heritage Foundation
Located on the campus of the American Motorcyclist Association in Pickerington, Ohio, the Museum’s three major exhibition halls feature the machines and memorabilia of those who have contributed notably to the sport.
