These are the rules we live by. Not that we invented any of it, but we are experts at using all of the aspects of marketing to insure your business the best chance for success in today’s world. This is our approach.
Marketing, especially, its online aspect is the lifeblood of your existing and newly emerging business. Without it, you are bound to flounder in your efforts. Online marketing is quite complex today. You cannot absorb is all at the same time. What you need to do is go about it step by step. Here is a list that should guide you on your way.
- Benefits: If you are in a business, you want people to know why you are better than others. This has been the first rule of marketing for centuries now, and it just as valid today on the internet. Be clear about it. What benefits do your products or services provide to your customer? Exactly who will benefit from your services?
- Target: Unless you are some kind of a conglomerate, your business is not likely to cater to everybody. Accordingly, don’t pitch your product or service to every type of visitor. You serve people with a specific set of needs. When you are creating a marketing plan, narrow down your audience to small group.
- Lean and Mean: This step directly follows from the previous step. Design your service so that it has certain specific features. Just focus completely on it like it is nobody else’s business. This is how you will create quality, and build a loyal customer base through marketing.
- Consistency: One of the more important aspects of your marketing is that it should have a consistent message. Your message is tied closely to your goal as a business. Articulate your goal clearly to your customers and you will attract them in droves. Things do not really start moving without well planned follow-up strategies.
- Be Understated: It is important that you do not push your products to customers in any marketing campaign. Your marketing strategy should make your products look cool, so that people would want to buy them. The message should be entertaining where ever possible. Being too aggressive in your marketing tone means that you lose the cool factor, and thus the attraction.
- A solid website: With almost your entire audience shifting online, your website is your primary identity. It should reflect the quality of your work, your products, and your business. Let your website be as clean as possible. It should highlight what you want your clients to buy and get everything else out of the way. A solid website is your biggest marketing asset.
- Social networks: Although a strong website is your base, it is not enough for a successful marketing strategy. Extend your online presence through social networking websites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. it doesn’t matter if you only one of them or use all of them, but use them well.
- Social bookmarking: Keep your website constantly updated with new stuff. Write blogs on your area of expertise regularly, and then use social bookmarking sites to generate interest in your product or service.
- Be updated: Technology keeps changing and so will the way you use them for marketing. Always be on the lookout for new ways to implement your strategies and stay ahead of your competition.
- Slow and steady: Many pundits will tell you that you need to be move fast with your marketing strategy, or else your competition will walk all over you. While you do need to adapt, by no means should you rush on them. Agreed that many businesses have grown quickly by being really fast in the market, but without a steady strategy they have disappeared even more quickly.
